In a significant step toward becoming an accredited International English Language Testing System (IELTS) testing venue, the University of Saint Louis Tuguegarao, through the GloCal Partnerships and Engagement (GPE) Office, successfully conducted a full simulation of the IELTS testing process on May 16, 2025 at the University Auditorium, Bishop Constant Jurgens Campus (BCJC).
Held at the proposed testing site within the university campus, the simulation replicated the full IELTS testing environment—from check-in procedures, identity verification, and security protocols to the administration of the Listening, Reading, Writing, and Speaking components. The simulation was overseen by representatives of the IELTS British Council to ensure compliance with international testing protocols.
Fifty participants in the simulation included faculty, staff, and students who acted as test-takers to help validate the integrity and readiness of the proposed testing site. Observations, feedback, and documentation from the activity will be submitted to the British Council as part of the university’s formal application for accreditation.
The establishment of an on-campus IELTS Testing Center aims to support the institution’s broader goal of internationalization and to help students and professionals gain easier access to opportunities abroad.
With the successful execution of this simulation, USLT reaffirms its dedication to academic excellence and global competitiveness.
