In its commitment to beef up internationalization agenda, the University of Saint Louis Tuguegarao (USLT) joined fellow Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) in Region II for the Ceremonial Signing of the Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) for Internationalization Convergence held on May 19, 2025, at Mallig Plains Colleges, Inc.
Spearheaded by the Commission on Higher Education – Regional Office No. II (CHEDRO II), in collaboration with Mallig Plains Colleges, Inc., the event bore the theme:
“BRIDGE: Building Resilience and Innovation in Developing Global Engagements: Mapping of University Rankings Methodologies, Scoping Internationalization Gaps, and Forging Strategic Partnerships.”
The ceremonial signing gathered university presidents from various HEIs across Cagayan Valley, including University of Saint Louis Tuguegarao, Cagayan State University, Isabela State University, Saint Mary’s University, University of Cagayan Valley, Nueva Vizcaya State University, and Medical Colleges of Northern Philippines – International School of Asia and the Pacific, together with the internationalization focal persons from the different HEIs in region 02.
The ceremonial MOA signing is an affirmation of the different HEIs’ commitment to strengthening internationalization initiatives in the region. Representing USLT was Rev. Fr. Macwayne N. Maniwang, CICM, PhD, the university president, together with Dr. Luisa B. Aquino, Vice President for Academics, Dr. Anjanette F. Batulan, Director for GloCal and Partnerships Engagement, Dr. Marie Jean Mendezabal, the senior director for Strategic Management Quality Assurance and Accreditation, and Dr. Darin Jan C. Tindowen, Senior Director for University Research and Innovation, who also shared his expertise on “Methodologies and Metrics of University Rankings” and “Data Collection Strategies in University Rankings Systems.”
USLT’s active participation in the event, through its key leaders, resource person, and institutional representation, signifies its sustained dedication to nurturing globally competitive education and building strategic partnerships in line with its vision of transforming lives through innovation, internationalization, and service.
