Fortifying global ties, the University of Saint Louis Tuguegarao (USLT) and Grandsoul Japan (GSJ) Co., Ltd. officially signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on March 26, 2025, at the Sacred Heart Boardroom, marking the beginning of a strategic collaboration.
The MoU highlights USLT and Grandsoul’s commitment to meet the evolving needs of the healthcare industry. Specifically, the partnership underscores the promotion of the following: a Japanese Language Program for Caregivers, a Japanese Nursing Care Program, an Internship Abroad Program, Faculty and Student Cultural Immersion, Alumni Placement, and Faculty Skills Training.
Vice President for Academics Dr. Luisa B. Aquino expressed her enthusiasm for the formalized partnership, emphasizing its importance in addressing the sector’s needs and benefiting from Japanese language education.
Meanwhile, GSJ affirmed its commitment to promoting language education and creating better opportunities for Filipinos.
The GSJ delegation was led by Mr. Kimio Nakatani, General Manager; Mr. Roderick Ulep, the Head of Linkages Office of the University of Perpetual Help System DALTA-Calamba Campus; Ms. Maria Theresa Yokoyama, Instructor of Japanese Nursing Care; and Ms. Marie Mae Paglingayen, Language Translator.
Before sealing the partnership, GSJ representatives had the chance to orient the Nursing, Civil Engineering, and Electrical Engineering students, who are potential takers of the joint venture programs.
This affiliation agreement ensures the university’s commitment to producing competent and compassionate caregivers who can contribute meaningfully to the healthcare sector both locally and internationally.
