Committed to honing the skills of student journalists, the Basic Education School (BES) organized a school-based writeshop to equip students with essential knowledge in various fields of journalism.
The two-day workshop focused on enhancing students’ skills in news writing, feature writing, and other journalistic forms. Facilitators guided participants through intensive workshops and provided feedback to enhance their outputs.
Several esteemed speakers and facilitators shared their expertise during the event. Ms. Mielmia Marie T. Baquiran, Community Affairs Officer II from the Cagayan Provincial Information Office, conducted sessions on feature writing.
Mr. Mark Tumabao, USLT alumnus and renowned vlogger, also provided insights into copy reading, headline writing, and editorial writing, while Mr. Jenric Shane Q. Dela Cruz, USLT alumnus and architectural apprentice, focused on cartooning.
Mr. Armando G. Baltazar Jr., USLT Graphics Designer, facilitated discussions on collaborative and desktop publishing, and Mr. Sander T. Sedano, SACE faculty, trained students in TV and radio broadcasting.
With expert guidance from seasoned professionals, students gained valuable insights and hands-on experience, preparing them for their journalistic endeavors.
