The University of Saint Louis Tuguegarao’s (USLT) Hospitality and Tourism Department reigned as the overall champion in the 1st Cagayan Inter-Schools Tourism Skills Olympics held on February 6-7, 2025.
The university’s representatives, Ms. Merielle R. Agcaoili and Mr. Xarex R. Asuncion, claimed the crown as Cagayan’s first Tourism Ambassador and Ambassadress. Along with their titles, the duo was also honored with special awards for Best in Advocacy and Best in Digital Marketing Poster for their outstanding tourism advocacy plans.
USLT also took home the championship in the Flight Attendant Showmanship category, with team members Babyjane Casillano, Marijun L. Escobar, and Loyd Steffen P. Maramag, and the Best in Tour Package Proposal category, with Irish Joy C. Parungao and Gillian Marie M. Dayrit.
Ryan Wendelle A. Estigo and Trishanne Vanaleigh A. Baccay also prevailed in the Bartending and Showmanship event, while the team of Daphne Cyrille G. Saddul, Princess Al-Iza Babaran, and Reyxter James C. Yacapin also won the championship in the Travel Vlogging category.
Meanwhile, Justine Camille E. Pasamonte won first runner-up in the Tour Guiding and Travel Writing categories, as well as the team of Trisha Angelica S. Bacud, Aubrey Dacuycuy, and Jann-Kyle Marie L. Pasion in the Hospitality and Tourism Quiz Bee category.
Both the team of Carl A. Llapitan, Cassandra Louise S. Padernal, and Koen Kesler M. Dorado for the Market Basket category and the team of Hannah Ruth B. Bajo, Timoteo M. Palattao Jr., Leizl Keith C. Buduan, and Ma. Eshen Jules A. Esquibil for the 3-in-1 Table Set-Up event also clinched first runner-up.
The contested activities are part of PAGTIPAN (Pride and Gratitude for Tourism Industry Partners, Advocates, and Nurturers of Cagayan) of the Cagayan Tourism Office, in collaboration with the Higher Education Institutions of the province.
