The Supreme Learner Government (SLG) of both Junior High School and Senior High School units, The BOSS (Business Optimizers Student Society), and the ABM GEMxecutives proudly represented the University of Saint Louis Tuguegarao (USLT) at the International Assembly of Youth for UNESCO (Y4U) 2024, held in Puerto Princesa City, Palawan, from November 29 to December 1, 2024.
The Senior High School SLG was recognized as ๐๐ถ๐ต๐ด๐ต๐ข๐ฏ๐ฅ๐ช๐ฏ๐จ ๐๐๐๐๐๐ ๐๐ญ๐ถ๐ฃ ๐ง๐ฐ๐ณ ๐๐ฐ๐ค๐ช๐ข๐ญ ๐ข๐ฏ๐ฅ ๐๐ถ๐ฎ๐ข๐ฏ ๐๐ค๐ช๐ฆ๐ฏ๐ค๐ฆ, while the Junior High School SLG received the accolade of ๐๐ถ๐ต๐ด๐ต๐ข๐ฏ๐ฅ๐ช๐ฏ๐จ ๐๐๐๐๐๐ ๐๐ญ๐ถ๐ฃ ๐ง๐ฐ๐ณ ๐๐ฅ๐ถ๐ค๐ข๐ต๐ช๐ฐ๐ฏ. These prestigious recognitions were accompanied by Certificates of Good Standing, marking both organizations as Re-Accredited Clubs for UNESCO in the Philippines for the year.
Adding to USLโs achievements, The BOSS and ABM GEMxecutives, both ABM-affiliated clubs, earned their initial accreditation as Clubs for UNESCO in the Philippines. These newly accredited organizations bring USLโs total number of UNACOM-accredited clubs to four, a remarkable achievement considering that only 104 out of 451 applicants passed the rigorous accreditation process this year.
The clubsโ exceptional performances extended to various academic competitions during the assembly, further solidifying USLโs reputation for excellence. Jonathan Mark G. Quinto (The BOSS Peace Officer) emerged as the Champion in the On-the-Spot Photography Competition (High School Category), surpassing over 40 participants. Trixie Diane C. Maza (The BOSS President) and Johanne Rinzy C. Gauani (The BOSS Auditor) secured the 1st Runner-Up spot. At the same time, Mishaela Joschet C. Delayun (SHS SLG Auditor) and Aliyah Angelica O. Callangan (SHS SLG Secretary) claimed the 2nd Runner-Up spot in the Quiz Bowl 2024 (High School Category). Meanwhile, Jamilla Chloe C. Espiritu (JHS SLG President) placed 2nd Runner-Up in the On-the-Spot Essay Writing Contest (High School Category).

The event gathered over 900 delegates from the Philippines and neighboring countries such as Hong Kong, Thailand, South Korea, and Mainland China, highlighting its international scope.
The three-day event featured a mix of cultural presentations, optional tours exploring the rich heritage and tourism of Puerto Princesa City, and plenary sessions led by distinguished speakers. Dr. Ivan Anthony Henares, Secretary-General of the UNESCO National Commission of the Philippines, delivered an insightful discussion on ๐๐ฎ๐ฑ๐ฐ๐ธ๐ฆ๐ณ๐ช๐ฏ๐จ ๐๐ฐ๐ฎ๐ฎ๐ถ๐ฏ๐ช๐ต๐ช๐ฆ๐ด ๐ง๐ฐ๐ณ ๐๐ ๐๐ถ๐ด๐ต๐ข๐ช๐ฏ๐ข๐ฃ๐ญ๐ฆ ๐๐ฆ๐ท๐ฆ๐ญ๐ฐ๐ฑ๐ฎ๐ฆ๐ฏ๐ต ๐๐ฐ๐ข๐ญ๐ด ๐ข๐ฏ๐ฅ ๐๐๐๐๐๐ ๐๐ฏ๐ช๐ต๐ช๐ข๐ต๐ช๐ท๐ฆ๐ด. Jude A. Breakout sessions on the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) also allowed participants to learn from best practices shared by other UNESCO clubs, fostering collaboration and innovation.
John Mosel B. Bitonio, MBA, ABM Area Head, and Nestor Jr. C. Mallillin, MST, SLG Moderator, accompanied the students and served as their coaches throughout the event. Their guidance and support were instrumental in ensuring the participantsโ preparedness and outstanding competition performance.
The success of USLโs student organizations in this international assembly reaffirms their commitment to the ideals of UNESCO and highlights their role as catalysts for social change and sustainable development.
