USL-SABH honors BSBA students in 3rd coating, pinning, candle lighting ceremony

The School of Accountancy, Business, and Hospitality (SABH) of the University of Saint Louis (USL) celebrated the achievements of 57 Bachelor of Science in Business Administration (BSBA) students, Batch 2025, composed of 34 Major in Financial Management and 23 Major in Marketing Management, during the 3rd Coating, Pinning, and Candle Lighting Ceremony held on December 2, 2024.

The event commenced with a Eucharistic celebration led by Rev. Fr. John Mark D. Barroga, CICM, VPMI/University Chaplain. Following the mass, Dr. Rizza V. Ramos, SABH Dean, delivered the opening remarks. She defined the meaningful symbols of the ceremony, emphasizing that the pin signifies the students’ readiness to enter the professional world, the coat represents their growth in maturity and professionalism, and the candle embodies hope and inspiration to overcome future challenges.

She also added that when students find themselves in a challenging situation in the field of work, they must remember that wearing the pin is a form of commitment, the coat of professionalism, and the candle is the spark that they need to carry within them.

The program continued with the acknowledgment of parents who served as witnesses to this significant event. Ma. Carina Victoria M. Catuaan, MBA, Business Administration Department Head, then presented the candidates for the ceremony.

The pinning ceremony, a highlight of the event, was led by Dr. Luisa B. Aquino, VP for Academics, and Dr. Ramos. The lighting of the mother candle, symbolizing the passing of wisdom and inspiration, was initiated by Dr. Aquino. The light was subsequently passed to Dr. Ramos, Ms. Catuaan, and Dr. Fe Rose-Anne B. Maramag, internship adviser, before being shared with the student interns.

As the interns received their pins, the atmosphere was filled with fulfillment, indicating an optimistic future for the BSBA Batch 2025. Their parents were proud witnesses to their solemn commitment to excellence and service.

Following the distribution of pins, all BSBA interns recited the Oath of Students led by Chester John T. Ibay, reaffirming their dedication to upholding the values and responsibilities of their chosen profession.

Dr. Aquino delivered an inspiring message on behalf of the University President, Rev. Fr. Macwayne N. Maniwang, CICM, Ph.D. She commended the students’ hard work and assured them of USL’s commitment to equipping them with the knowledge and skills necessary to prosper in their field. Dr. Aquino also encouraged the interns to treat their future careers confidently, reminding them that the university had provided them with a solid foundation to succeed.

The ceremony concluded with hope and excitement as the BSBA students prepare to venture on a professional journey marked by challenges and fulfillment.
