BES student bags gold at Batang Pinoy National Championship 2024

Davine P. Novo, a grade 10 student from the Basic Education School (BES), won a gold medal at the Batang Pinoy National Championship 2024, in the Girls’ Road Criterium event for the 16-17 age group. The multi-sport event was held from November 25 to 28, 2024, at Puerto Princesa City, Palawan.



Novo, representing Cagayan Province and endorsed by the local government unit (LGU), competed against representatives from 12 other LGUs in her category. Her performance in cycling events stood out as she also secured commendable finishes in other competitions, placing 4th in the Girls’ Road Individual Time Trial (ITT) and 5th in the Girls’ Road Individual Road Race (IRR).


Additionally, she was coached by Amancio A. Novo Jr., whose guidance contributed to her success in the competition. Novo was joined by five other athletes from the province, all of whom received support and assistance from Provincial Governor Manuel N. Mamba.


The Batang Pinoy National Championship 2024 is an annual multi-sport event participated by athletes from across the Philippines to compete in different sports events under the auspices of the Philippine Sports Commission. It continues to provide a platform for young Filipino athletes to showcase their skills and represent their communities at the national level.


The university extends its congratulations to Novo for bringing pride and honor to her school and community.
