USL-BES student notches silver medal at national taekwondo tilt

The University of Saint Louis (USL) proudly congratulates Bhea Janiz T. Begay, a seventh-grade student from the Basic Education School (BES), for securing a silver medal at the 2024 Smart/MVPSF National Inter-School Taekwondo Championships-Poomsae category.

Ms. Bhea’s triumph is a remark of her passion and skill harnessed under the guidance of her coaches, Ton Bardillo and Ruth Viernes, from the Apayao Eagles Taekwondo Club in the Philippines.

The Philippine Taekwondo Association (PTA) organized the event, which took place on October 20, 2024, at the Ninoy Aquino Stadium in Malate, Manila, with the participation of 25 universities/schools from the Philippines. The association aims explicitly to develop the premier Olympic martial arts sport nationwide.

This achievement of Ms. Bhea highlights her fortitude and natural skills that serve as a source of pride and inspiration to USL and the entire Philippine taekwondo community.

Congratulations, Bhea and her parents!
