Emmalaine S. Llamas, a fourth-year Bachelor of Science in Computer Science student at the University of Saint Louis (USL), stood out as one of the esteemed Philippine delegates in the Seeds for the Future Program: Asia-Pacific Digital Talent Summit held on September 23-27, 2024 in Nanning and Shenzhen, China. This event gathered over 130 digital talents from 13 countries across the Asia-Pacific region.
Llamas earned her spot as one of the Philippine delegates through her involvement in Team Clarity, the Champion of the Philippine Startup Challenge. Each year, a representative from the winning team is sent to this international summit, offering a unique opportunity to engage with fellow innovators across the globe.
In this year’s summit, the Philippines fielded two groups. Llamas led her four-member team, Team Lifeline, in the Tech4Good Pitching Competition. Their presentation, built on the project idea from AIDE—a previous initiative of Llamas and her former teammates Rodrigo G. Barien III and Richmond D. Lavadia—showcased their ingenuity and commitment to driving technological innovation for social good.
Reflecting on her experience, Llamas shared her pride and appreciation as she stated, “I am very proud to be a part of this wonderful event by Huawei. Not only did I gain knowledge, but I also got to share the exemplary education system of the University of Saint Louis Tuguegarao to the Asia-Pacific as the Team Leader of Team Lifeline from the Philippines in the Tech4Good Pitching Competition.”
Llamas’ participation in this global summit stands as a testament to the talent, innovation, and leadership nurtured at USL, underlining the importance of collaboration in tackling real-world problems through technology.
