Four Louisians, together with filmmakers from different schools and production teams from Tuguegarao City, won Best Film in the 1st Lifestyle Insurance Film Festival 2024.
The team clinched the highest award, the Standard Insurance Golden LIFF Award, along with another award, the Standard Insurance Creative LIFF Award, which propelled them as the winners of the film festival.
USL creatives, namely, Darren Krystian S. Dela Cruz (BSIT-4, Assistant Director), Mark Adrian D. Cabildo (SECAP Lab-in-Charge, Actor), John Andre P. Marquez (BSIT-1, Actor), and Viosh Jeigo Z. Casibang (BSCS-1, Production Assistant), collaborated with creatives from the Cagayan State University-Carig Campus and other local production teams in producing the winning film.
Their film titled “13_HRS (byaheng bus, pero mas pinili kong mag-eroplano)” follows Jigs, who, after deciding to take a plane instead of a bus, wakes up hours later in a mysterious landscape, struggling to uncover how he got there and what secrets the strange place holds.
Hosted by the North Luzon Cinema Guild and Standard Insurance-Tuguegarao, the film screening and awarding were held on September 7, 2024, at the Cagayan Museum and Historical Research Center.
