The University of Saint Louis (USL) has seen an increase in academic benchmarking visits this school year, underscoring its growing recognition as a model institution within the academic community.
Earlier this school year, USL facilitated the benchmarking endeavor of the academic visitors from Our Lady of the Pillar College (OLPC) from San Manuel, Isabela.
In a dialogue held on September 4, 2023, at the Bulwagang Teodulfo Domingo (New EMC), the OLPC delegation inquired about USL’s research department, university marketing practices, employee retention and benefits, pre-board practices, and budget allocation, among other topics of discussion. The participants later engaged in a one-on-one exchange session with their counterparts.
The OLPC delegation was led by Dr. Marissa F. Prudencio, College Dean, and Ms. Marijoe M. Pimentel, Basic Education OIC.
Representatives from Rizal Technological University’s (RTU) Institute of Computer Studies also held a benchmarking study at USL Main Campus on April 18, 2024, to gain valuable insights in improving their academic programs and strategies.
In particular, USL shared its best practices on its computer science courses and objects in areas of program curriculum and content, teaching and pedagogical approach, faculty, resources and infrastructure, student support and outcomes, continuous improvement processes, marketing strategies, stakeholder meetings, and scholarship program integration.
USL welcomed the administrators from RTU, led by Dr. Fortunato Dela Peña, RTU Consultant and former DOST Secretary, and Dr. Aphril Alcalde, RTU BSCS Curriculum Committee Chair.
Saint Joseph’s College of Baggao, Inc. also visited and toured around the university’s main campus on April 29, 2024, to learn about the university’s best practices in the areas of instruction, organization, and management.
The visiting administrators, spearheaded by Rev. Fr. Gerard Ariston P. Perez, SJCB President, were paired with their designation counterparts to facilitate extensive discussions and gain insights into specific areas of interest.
USL welcomed the visitors in separate sessions, led by Rev. Fr. Macwayne N. Maniwang, CICM, Pd.D., University President; Dr. Luisa B. Aquino, Executive Assistant to the President; Dr. Emmanuel James P. Pattaguan, VP for Academics; Dr. Rina M. Reyes, VP for Administration; Dr. Celso L. Tuddao, VP for Finance; and other key administrators and personnel of the university.
The visits demonstrate the recognition of USL’s academic quality and overall growth in prominence. USL remains committed to collaborating with fellow educational institutions to exchange best practices in line with its thrust towards mission and excellence. This effort aligns with its dedication to fostering continuous improvement and innovation within the academic community.
