Noah Czar G. Caraggayan and Lawrence A. Guitering, Basic Education School (BES) students of the University of Saint Louis Tuguegarao (USLT) earned international recognition after securing Silver Awards at the International Mathematics Olympiad Competition of Southeast Asia (IMOCSEA) International Round 2025, held on December 19, 2025, in Osaka, Japan.
Caraggayan and Guitering. Grade 12 and 10 students, respectively, stood out among competitors from various countries due to their strong performance in the Math Olympiad.
The Math Olympiad gathered young and talented mathematicians from different nations in a friendly yet rigorous academic environment aimed at promoting excellence and proficiency in Mathematics, as well as critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
Beyond academic competition, IMOCSEA also supports the promotion of Southeast Asian tourism. The Olympiad initially featured the Philippines as its first host destination, followed by Indonesia, Singapore, Malaysia, and other Southeast Asian countries, before expanding to partner countries worldwide.
USLT continues to support the holistic development of its students by encouraging participation in international academic competitions to showcase their talents, strengthen global competence, and uphold excellence.
