The Supreme Student Council (SSC) of the University of Saint Louis Tuguegarao (USLT) officially opened the Louisian Leadership Convergence (LLC) 2026 on September 10, 2026, at the James Ter Meer Gymnasium, bringing together student leaders for a three-day program focused on leadership formation, fellowship, and service.

The opening preliminaries were held at the university before the participants traveled to Sta. Maria, Isabela, for the afternoon session and the succeeding activities scheduled for September 11 and 12, where the main activities of the convergence will take place.

Carrying the theme “SIGWA NG PAGBABAGO: Daluyong ng Paninindigan, Hamon sa Pagbubuklod ng Bukas,” the program seeks to provide participants with meaningful experiences that encourage reflection, collaboration, and a stronger commitment to leadership.

The opening day, themed “Pagharap sa Sigwa,” features a series of activities where participants will take part in sessions and group activities designed to build connections, encourage personal reflection, and strengthen their leadership capacities.

By bringing student leaders together outside the usual campus setting, the SSC seeks to create an environment where participants can learn from one another, form meaningful connections, and reflect on how they can contribute to their community.

Beyond leadership formation and fellowship, the convergence also supports Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 16: Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions by strengthening student leadership, encouraging responsible participation, and fostering a culture of collaboration and service among young leaders.

Carrying the theme “Biyaheng Luwisyano: Lakbay ng Adbokasiya Tungo sa Pagkakaisa at Paglilingkod,” this year’s Advocacy Fair invites the Louisian community to embark on a journey across the Philippines through the different booths prepared by departmental councils and student organizations.

The opening activity featured the blessing of the advocacy booths under the co-curricular organizations of the School of Accountancy, Business, and Hospitality (SABH) and the School of Education, Criminology, Arts, and Psychology (SECAP). The blessing was led by Rev. Fr. John Mark D. Barroga, CICM, Vice President for Mission and Identity/ University Chaplain, formally setting the fair in motion.

Inspired by the concept of travel, the participating organizations adopted different Philippine provinces through random picking and transformed their assigned spaces into representations of local culture and identity. Each booth is designed to feature the history, traditions, landmarks, and stories of its chosen province while highlighting the organization’s own advocacy, programs, and contributions to the university community.

The Advocacy Fair 2026 runs from August 10 to 14, with activities taking place across the university. A separate Advocacy Fair will be held on August 11 at the Main Campus, bringing the same celebration of culture and advocacy to another part of the Louisian community.

The Advocacy Fair 2026 supports SDG 4: Quality Education and SDG 11: Sustainable Cities and Communities by providing experiential learning opportunities that promote cultural appreciation, raise awareness, and preserve Philippine heritage. It also advances SDG 16: Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions and SDG 17: Partnerships for the Goals by encouraging student participation, inclusive engagement, collaboration, and collective action toward shared advocacies.

The two-day activity began with a Eucharistic Celebration presided over by Rev. Fr. John Mark D. Barroga, CICM, Vice President for Mission and Identity/ University Chaplain, who reflected on authentic leadership through the biblical figures of Martha, Mary, and Lazarus. He emphasized that effective leadership goes beyond administrative competence—it is fundamentally a profession of faith. He reminded the management team that planning is an act of hope, as it reflects trust in God’s providence and confidence in the future.

Following the mass, Rev. Fr. Macwayne N. Maniwang, CICM, Ph.D., University President, delivered his opening message, encouraging the management team to reject mediocrity and pursue excellence through accountability, effective communication, and openness to change. He reminded the participants that true compassion is rooted in both love and justice, calling on them to lead with empathy and responsibility.

Day 1 centers on evaluating the university’s overall performance and effectiveness through the annual management review. The sessions cover a review of previous management actions, assessment of internal and external issues affecting the university, performance and monitoring results, stakeholder feedback, resource adequacy, risks and opportunities, and areas for continual improvement.

Furthermore, the session features the Annual Report Presentations of the Mission and Identity, Finance, Administration, Academics, and President’s Clusters, highlighting accomplishments, key performance indicators, and strategic initiatives in support of USLT’s commitment to quality management and institutional excellence.

Additionally, the program further covers management review outputs, including improvement opportunities, resource requirements, and recommendations to strengthen the university’s Educational Organizations Management System (EOMS), reinforcing USLT’s commitment to Sustainable Development Goal 16 (Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions) by promoting effective, accountable, and transparent institutional governance, while advancing SDG 4 (Quality Education) through continuous quality improvement and organizational excellence.

The University of Saint Louis held its Strategic Development Planning on February 26–27, 2026, at Phoenix Publishing House, anchored on the theme, “Shaping Our Shared Future: Charting the Direction for 2026 and Beyond.”

The two-day activity commenced with a Eucharistic Celebration presided over by Rev. Fr. John Mark D. Barroga, CICM, Vice President for Mission and Identity and University Chaplain, concelebrated with University President Rev. Fr. Macwayne N. Maniwang, CICM, PhD. The Mass set the tone for a reflective and mission-centered planning process, grounding the university’s strategic directions in faith and shared purpose.

The morning session of Day 1 featured a leadership development talk by Dr. Maria Teresa Bayle, School Director of St. Theresa’s College. Her lecture emphasized the pillars of leadership, highlighting the importance of character, collaboration, accountability, and mutuality in steering institutions toward sustainable growth. Through personal sharing and practical insights, participants were encouraged to embrace leadership as a shared responsibility anchored on service and vision.

In the afternoon, a strategy mapping workshop was facilitated by Dr. Noel C. Racho. The session focused on aligning proposed initiatives with the university’s mission, vision, and institutional goals. Participants identified cross-cutting and enabling strategies to ensure that programs across various units are coherent, measurable, and responsive to emerging challenges. The workshop provided a structured approach to translating long-term aspirations into actionable plans.

Following the workshop, different academic and administrative units prepared their respective development plans, integrating insights from the leadership talk and strategy mapping sessions.

Moreover, Day 2 centered on the presentation and critiquing of the development plans. Each unit presented its strategic priorities, proposed programs, and target outcomes for 2026 and beyond. Constructive feedback from the facilitators and fellow participants fostered collaboration and refinement, strengthening the collective roadmap of the university.

The Strategic Development Planning concluded with a renewed commitment among university leaders and stakeholders to work collaboratively in shaping a future that is mission-driven, innovative, sustainable, and responsive to the evolving needs of the academic community.
