USL-EE hits top ranks in REE, RME board exams

“We offer these accolades to God.”

The dean of the School of Engineering, Architecture, Interior Design, and Information Technology Education (SEAIDITE) of the University of Saint Louis (USL) said this on the latest feats of the department with the Electrical Engineering program having swept top ranks in the September 2018 licensure exams for registered electrical engineers and master electricians.

USL is Top 1 Performing School in the Registered Electrical Engineer (REE) Licensure Examination and Top 2 Performing School in the Registered Master Electrician (RME) Licensure Exam both administered by the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC).

One of the flagship programs of the University, the Electrical Engineering program posted 100 percent in the REE licensure examination and 94.34 percent in the RME licensure exam.

“We [SEAIDITE] are happy that USL is again recognized as the Top Performing School in the REE licensure exam and recognized also as a Top Performing School in the RME licensure exam. We have been doing very well in the REE and RME board exams in recent years,” Dean Ronald Villaverde said.

To date, USL has four recognitions from PRC as Top Performing School in REE board exams: Top 1 in 2001 and 2002, Top 3 in 2013, and Top 1 this 2018.

“Since we did not meet the required minimum number of takers to qualify as Top Performing School even if we had high passing rates in some other years, we were not recognized,” explained Engr. Villaverde.

Engr. Victor Villaluz, Electrical Engineering program chair, shared that contributory to the success of the passers were the following: (1) consistency in the screening process when they were in their third year and fourth year [college level]; (2) review of Mathematics and General Engineering subjects in their fifth year; and (3) concentration in major subjects during their review after graduation.

“I thank the full-time and part-time faculty who consistently reviewed our graduates,” said Engr. Villaluz.

Meanwhile, Engr. Villaverde added that prayers including the prayer vigils conducted in the University are also a factor in the examinees’ success.

The successful examinees are as follows:
