At the meeting at the Sacred Heart Board Room, the two US Embassy representatives and USL Officials discussed the preparations for the coming of an American English Language Fellow (EL Fellow) to USL for school year 2014-2015. The EL Fellow will be fielded by the American Government.
USL will host the EL Fellow for about ten months where he/she will be part of the University’s English Language Center (ELC) and will also teach some English subjects in College.
Dr. Rogier said that the EL Fellow Program of the US Government is meant to help further the English Language in the host community and to expose Americans to other cultures.
USL’s hosting of an EL Fellow is part of the University’s growing commitment to enhance cooperation with different entities for the improvement of its academic programs.
